Ginnþurs

The Master Þurs Rune, known as Ginnþurs in the Thursatru Tradition, serves as the central symbol embodying the essence of the acosmic Thursian Power. It emerges from Ginnungagap as an antithetical force, carrying both the fiery essence of Múspell and the icy Eitr of Nifl, hence earning its name, Ginnþurs.

Within the Ginnþurs rune, the flames of Múspell and the ice of Nifl are concealed in the forms of Sowilo and Isaz runes, respectively. Two of each rune are arranged at the bottom, mirrored by another pair atop the rune. This duality symbolizes the twin power inherent in Ginn, intensifying its antagonistic force known as Þursamegin.

The Ginnþurs rune serves as a symbolic map, delineating the will and purpose of Þorn’s Spiritual Bloodline. It begins from the bottom with the stylized Ingwaz rune, not defined by its closed shape but rather by the negative space within it, representing the Void Seed of Ginnungagap, a realm of boundless potentiality. Above this void lie two horizontal Sowilo runes, symbolizing the potent megin of Múspell, and two horizontal Isaz runes, embodying the icy essence of Nifl.

Emerging from Ginnungagap, the Tiwaz rune embodies the adversarial spirit that permeates the cosmos, heralding the rise of the Thursian races. These races, represented by the repeated Sowilo and Isaz runes atop the Tiwaz rune, march triumphantly towards Ragnarök. In this cataclysmic event, fire and ice converge, striking at the heart of the oppressive æsir and their yggdrasilian realms. The victory of the Giants of Ginn is symbolized by a forked crown atop the Ginnþurs rune, signifying their ultimate triumph over the forces of oppression.

The two runic words encapsulating the essence of our faith, "ginn" and "þurs," both possess a runic numerological value of 11. Breaking down the calculation for each word reveals this numerical symmetry: "ginn" adds up to 47 (19 + 10 + 9 + 9), which then simplifies to 11 (4 + 7), while "þurs" totals 83 (23 + 24 + 21 + 15), ultimately reducing to 11 (8 + 3).

In accordance with the teachings of our revered Serpentine Runerow, 11 holds profound significance within the Thursatru Tradition. Our Ginnþurs rune, a sacred symbol of our belief system, prominently features this number's influence. It boasts 11 attached thorns on its Thurisaz rune stem, representing "þurs," and exhibits 11 points of intersection within its entirety, symbolizing "ginn." This illustration below demonstrates the symbolic power and numerical alignment inherent within our path.

Combining "Ginn" and "þurs" yields a sum of 130, which can be interpreted as 13, symbolizing the 13th rune, Perthro. Perthro signifies the rune of rock, and for us representing the Utgardian Mountain Giants. Alternatively, reducing 130 by adding its digits together (1 + 3 + 0) results in 4, representing the numeric value of the Ingwaz rune, the Ginnic spiritual seed.
